Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your address, so the request reaches a company that serves it
- Where water appears: floor joint, one wall, a crack, a window well, or up through the floor
- When it shows up: spring melt, heavy rain, or year-round
- Wall type if you know it: poured concrete, block, brick or stone
- Whether there's a sump pump and whether the basement is finished
